PNKF Shinpan Seminar

The PNKF education committee is happy to invite you and your members to this year's shinpan seminar. This year's seminar will build on the observed refereeing that was done at the US Kendo Nationals in Detroit, MI, and will be focused on training 3D to 5D kenshi. This training will also be important practice in preparation for the upcoming PNKF taikai at the end of October. In this context, we are planning to have Team PNKF participating in the practice matches (pending confirmation) and look forward to having your students also work on judging high level kendo. Depending on attendance, we will strive to break participants into smaller groups to foster more targeted comments and guidance. With that said, we encourage all mudansha and yudansha to attend and actively participate in the matches.

Taking place at Northgate Community Center in Seattle on 9/30, the seminar will be led by Imanishi Sensei (SKK) and Koike Sensei (NW) from 10am to 6pm. We hope you will be able to attend and extend the invitation to your students so that they may better understand the needs and expectations of being a good shinpan and competitor. Please let us know your expected participation at your earliest convenience and we thank you very much in advance for your help in growing our PNKF excellence.

Date: September 30, 2023

Time: 10am to 5pm

Shinpan seminar (open doors at 9am); 5pm to 6pm godo keiko

Location: 10510 5th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98125

We will have a short lunch break from 12pm to 1230pm. Participants should plan to bring their own lunch for this event.
